# patchCustomObject

Partial update a custom object instance (activity log records only changed fields).

Partial update of a custom object instance identified by display ID (e.g., "VEN-42")
or internal numeric ID. Only the fields in `form_fields` are changed; all
others are preserved. The activity log records **only the patched
fields** (not a full object diff), giving a clean audit trail.

## Parameters
